Question: How to fix a seized engine because of no oil?
( Back )
Answer #1:
I'd put my money on a seized engine. There are a few things you can try, like replacing just the main and rod bearings, but it'll never run right again. New engine is almost a given. And, by the way, engines never fail without making noise first. Never. They knock and lose power. You probably just had your tunes pumped up too loudly to hear it. So, I'd stop giving the excuse that it didn't make noise and change it to, "well, if it was making noise, I guess I didn't hear it."
Answer #2:
Undortunately, the only things you can do for a seized engine is to do a complete rebuild or replace the engine altogether. If the engine seized it is mostly unfixable.Good luck man.
Answer #3:
complete rebuild including re-boring the engine or replace it. The Oil rings on the pistons probably broke into several pieces and gauled the inside of the cylinders. The main bearings gauled and seized, and the camshaft was probably cut by the lifters. You would need to re-bore the cylinders, line bore the main bearings, line bore the camshaft journal, new valves, pistons, probably Crankshaft, Camshaft, lifters, valves. Everything inside. Cheaper to buy a new crate motor than to pay for all of the labor required to do all of the work on the seized motor.Answer #4:
Well, I hate to say it but I think you are boned. Your best bet if it is indeed seized-up, (sounds like it is) is a replacement short-block, that is about the most cost effective solution. Sorry...** Powered by Yahoo Answers
