Question: Putting an RV cam in my 460????????
( Back )
Answer #1:
RV cams are typically very mild, sometimes even milder than stock. You'll gain a bit of torque, nothing terrible dramatic though, you'll lose some higher RPM horsepower, then engine will fall flat on it's face above 4000 RPM or so. The cam from a 351 won't work with a 460 and vice versa. If I had to put a number on the torque gain, which is hard since you didn't give the specs of the cam. I would guesstimate maybe 20-30 ft.-bs. at low RPM, you'll probably drop the peak torque down a couple hundred RPM as well.
